Trusting in God’s absolute supremacy over all things, and by God’s love shown to us in Jesus Christ, Carrollton Presbyterian Church is called to build upon our historic foundation in downtown Carrollton, providing a sanctuary of God’s love, healing and hope. We live in a complicated and changing world. Ours is a rapidly growing local community, full of opportunity, yet suffering from poverty, inadequate education, and broken families and relationships. We reach out to our world and community with compassion and leadership through service to others. |
We build up lives together united in worship, shaped by Scripture, and supported through fellowship. So strengthened, we generously share what God has given us with others through exciting and relevant ministries.
We look for God’s Spirit to renovate, reform and renew our traditions, so that we may help extend God’s love now and into the future. We reach the future through children and youth, in our congregation and community, building them up in the family of God.
Guiding Principles
- Worship is the most important thing we do. In it we stand in the very presence of God. We seek to worship God creatively in ways that are deeply spiritual and meaningful to as many people as possible from a variety of ages and backgrounds.
- We are always learning. God calls us all to look continuously for God's presence in our world and lives today. We seek to invite all people, to read and interpret the Bible, God's Word to us, while we examine our world today and listen to the voice of the church universal across the ages and around the world.
- We are a family. We are connected to all of God's people around the world. We seek to strengthen these bonds, to warmly welcome all people in the love of Christ, and to nourish a loving and compassionate church family.
- We serve all of creation. God calls us to follow the example of Jesus, who, although was God of all, also became the servant of all. We seek to proclaim the Kingdom of God by giving of ourselves and our resources and working for God's peace, love, justice, and life.
- We pray without ceasing. Through prayer we are in communion with God. We seek to give praise and thanksgiving to God in all we do, to lift up the deepest needs of ourselves and the world, and to humbly listen for God's will.
